GREAT BRITISH INSULATION SCHEME
What is it?
The Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS) offers government funded loft or cavity wall insulation.
The £1 Billion Scheme is designed to provide eligible individuals fully funded insulation in their homes, saving households around £300 annually on energy bills.
The scheme aims to support approximately 300,000 people.
Am I eligible?
Qualifying properties must have an Energy Performance Certificate rating of D or below and be in council tax bands A-D in England or A-E in Scotland and Wales.
Benefits of insulation
Lower Energy Bills: Adding insulation enhances your home's energy efficiency by reducing heat loss through walls, the roof, and floors. This means you'll require less energy to heat your home, resulting in lower heating costs.
Warmer Home in Winter: Insulation acts as a barrier to prevent heat from escaping, keeping more warmth inside during colder months. This makes your home cozier and more comfortable.
Reduce Carbon Footprint: By using less energy for heating, you can significantly lower your home's carbon emissions. Insulating your home is a practical way to lessen its environmental impact.
Improve Energy Efficiency Rating: Proper insulation can improve your home's Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating. A higher rating indicates greater energy efficiency, which can be a valuable selling point for potential homebuyers.
